Our Mission

The Indepedals is a stationary set of pedals that allows people to convert the physical energy of pedalling into electricity, which can then be used to power flash lights and cell phones.

Indepedals is a start-up entrepreneurial project under development by students at Princeton University, initiated by Mark Pavlyukovskyy, that provides a source of clean, renewable energy to rural areas in developing countries in Africa that are not connected to a central power grid.

We would like to partner with NGOs and use their knowledge of communities in specific countries in order to have a grass-root level impact. By distributing the IndePedals through an already established network we ensure that each IndePedal is given to the location in each village that will allow easy access to it and that will benefit from it the most, and that a line of communication exists between the people of this village and us through the NGO.
